Photography is a passion I have had as long as I can remember. I will never forget my father taking photos of us with a state of the art Polaroid camera when I was about 5 years old. I remember him taking the shot and then counting down the seconds before pealing the developing paper back to reveal the black and white image. It was like magic. I was hooked at a very young age. I have always been fascinated by photography. I had a friend who had a dark room and I was so impressed I knew someday I would build my own. At age 16 I had my first SLR camera, a Minolta XG7. Soon after that my parents let me convert the laundry room into a dark room. I was in heaven.
Things have come a long way since that time but the good old days will never be forgotten. I used film for years but now I shoot everything with digital cameras. I have had many digital cameras including a Canon 5D. Right now I am using a Canon 7D and it is a wonderful camera. Digital photography has opened up a whole new world for me as it has many. Now my dark room is my computer and Photoshop is a indispensable tool. Creative options are endless.
I am always hunting for that great image. Something in the photo has got to inspire me before I share it with others. Some of my images are unbelievable and I cannot help but feel they are gifts from God. When in nature I am only capturing what he has created and I thank him for that everyday. I lean on him for my inspiration when I am behind the camera.
Photography has helped me through some rough times in my life. It is a very relaxing hobby and I do not know where I would be without it. It is a creative outlet for me. To capture a beautiful moment in time and then share it with others is very rewarding. I give all credit to my heavenly Father because without him, I could not do this.
Kindest regards,
